Dictyophora indusiata (Vent.ex Pers) Fisch, also known as eatable and delicious bamboo fungus or bamboo ginseng, is a crypto endolithic fungus that parasitizes on the roots of dead bamboo.

In China, Dictyophora indusiata has a wide distribution, with excellent quality in southwest provinces. It features a dark green pileus, a snow - white cylindrical stipe, a pinkish - egg - shaped volva, and a delicate, pure - white net - like skirt spreading downward from the pileus at the top of the stipe.

It has one unique growth history: from egg to mushroom. In the case of sunny and high temperature, it only takes about 10 minutes to “break out of the egg shell”, first grow into a cylindrical stipe with a cap，and then blooming snow-like veils.
